Please read the below regarding this Friday.

On Tuesday, our senior T20 match against Clayton West, had to be abandoned because of heavy showers. The Huddersfield League has stated that this fixture must now be played on Friday, which is our popular junior training night. We requested a change of date because of the impact on our juniors, but this was declined.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel training this Friday, because of safety and coaching issues, Senior players are capable of hitting the ball very hard and a long way into the field, so we would not be able to use our net facility and training on the field would not be entirely safe. A number of our senior players will be involved in the T20 game and so we do not have the usual number of coaches available to staff the junior session on this occasion.

As we now have to go ahead with the game on Friday, we have decided to make an event of it and will hold a BBQ at the game. You are most welcome to attend and hopefully this will be a fun event! We are hoping to set up the sound system with music for the fall of wickets and run scoring, as in professional games. It should be exciting for the juniors to see their coaches in action and to see what they themselves are aiming for as players. Please be aware though, that cricket balls can be dangerous objects and we would ask that parents attending the match, supervise their children throughout the game and that they are aware of the ball and their children at all times everywhere around the ground. It is important that we all stay safe!

The bar will be open and we will have top quality burgers and sausages from Hinchcliffe's, so come along and cheer on our team! We can still enjoy some Friday night fun!

Please accept our apologies for the change to our usual training routine.
